With 27 inches and a great, polished design with a sturdy stand, this 4K monitor from Dell is an ideal size for an office desk and an almost perfect match for the Mac Mini. The display is bright enough for most types of work, and the colors look great out of the box.

Display height, pivot, swivel, and tilt can be easily adjusted for optimum ergonomics and comfort, and its stand is removable in case you want to hook it up to a VESA wall mount or a monitor arm. 

Its 30bit SDR mode yields amazing results for image reproduction. This means that each pixel can be constructed from more than one billion shades of color. It is possible to calibrate it to improve graphics work results, but suffice to say that the panel covers +99% of sRGB and +95% of DCI-P3 and its defaults just look great.

5. MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD

The MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD has the largest color gamut we’ve ever seen and near-perfect out-of-box accuracy. sRGB content will be oversaturated though, and HDR doesn’t do anything for image quality.

If you need a monitor that supports HDR, check out the MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD. It has a similar form factor as the ASUS ProArt Display PA278CV, with a 27 inch, 1440p screen, but it has worse viewing angles and a slightly worse stand, so it’s not quite as versatile.

It has an impressive SDR color gamut, with perfect coverage of the sRGB and the Adobe RGB color spaces, so it’s a great choice for content creators, but colors appear over-saturated at times. It also supports HDR and can display an incredibly wide color gamut in the DCI P3 color space. It also has a USB-C input so you can connect your Mac Mini and display an image.

If you only use the monitor for text processing or browsing the web, go with the ASUS because it has better ergonomics, better viewing angles, and a USB-C port. If you need a wide color gamut or HDR support, go with the MSI.

6. Gigabyte M34WQ

The Gigabyte M34WQ is an excellent gaming monitor. The ultrawide screen delivers a more immersive gaming experience, and it has a fast refresh rate with low input lag. It has an excellent response time at the max refresh rate, resulting in clear motion with little blur behind fast-moving objects.

The best ultrawide monitor we’ve tested for the Mac Mini is the Gigabyte M34WQ. It’s a great office monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, offering you more horizontal screen space than standard 16:9 monitors, so you can easily open multiple windows side-by-side.

It also has Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes so you can view images from two sources at once, in case you need to connect your laptop alongside your Mac Mini. Although mainly designed for gaming, it also has a few productivity features. It performs well in bright rooms as it has great peak brightness and reflection handling, meaning visibility won’t be an issue in most rooms.

It also has wide viewing angles if you need to share your screen with others, and the excellent out-of-the-box accuracy is great for content creators. You won’t have any issues connecting to the monitor because it has two HDMI inputs and a USB-C input that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.

7. Dell P3222QE USB-C Hub Monitor

Choosing the best monitor for yourself isn’t easy, especially if you’re looking for a display that can connect to your notebook over a single USB-C cable and handle all the connectivity. Fortunately, Dell has a new 32-inch 4K offering, called the Dell 32 4K USB-C Hub Monitor, codenamed the P3222QE.

For the Mac Mini owner, having a monitor of the same high quality and specs is essential. While you can technically connect a Mac Mini to a big screen TV via HDMI, if you plan on using your Mac Mini for work, you will need a monitor that will become the center of your workspace. Dell delivers just that with the P3222QE, which can be aptly named a “docking monitor”. 

To begin with, it comes with USB-C to easily connect to the Mac mini. Additionally, it includes a USB hub, so you will be able to plug a mouse, trackball, webcam(opens in new tab), keyboard(opens in new tab), and USB flash drives(opens in new tab) into the monitor and then only have to plug a single cable into your Mac Mini.

With a 31.5-inch 4K IPS display and a matte black chassis and silver metal stand, the Dell P3222QE boasts modern aesthetics. 8. LG 38WN95C-W

The LG 38WN95C-W is a great overall monitor. It’s very good for office use or watching content, because it gets bright enough to combat glare, has wide viewing angles, and displays a wide color gamut. It’s impressive for gaming due to its extremely quick response time, incredibly low input lag, and FreeSync support.

If you want something even bigger, then look into the LG 38WN95C-W. It has worse ergonomics than the Gigabyte M34WQ, as you can’t swivel its stand as much. Even though it also has a single USB-C input, it supports Thunderbolt 3, which has a higher bandwidth and more power delivery than DisplayPort Alt Mode.

The large 38 inch screen has a 3840×1600 resolution, which results in good text clarity, and it gets extremely bright in SDR, but its reflection handling is only okay. It also gets bright in HDR and displays a wide color gamut, so colors are vivid, but its local dimming feature is terrible.

If you want the best monitor for Mac with an ultrawide screen, you can’t go wrong with the Gigabyte, but if you’re willing to spend more for something bigger that has Thunderbolt 3 support, then check out the LG.

9. MSI Prestige PS341WU

MSI’s new premium 34-inch PC monitor serves up a sumptuous 5K2K experience, HDR support and USB-C, but pairs it with dubious build quality.

This isn’t liquid retina, but it’s as close as you can get from a third-party monitor manufacturer. MSI’s Prestige PS341WU delivers 5,120 by 2,160 resolution at 60Hz for stunning image quality featuring bright colors and high contrast. Its LG nano IPS panel delivers excellent image quality for content creation and design work.

The new segment of “5K2K” monitors combine the horizontal resolution of a 5K display with the vertical resolution of a 4K display. In the end, this produces a larger screen area, a higher pixel density, and, as a result, better image quality and sharpness. In addition, it has excellent connectivity, including a USB Type-C port with charging capability, a DisplayPort port as well as an HDMI port, the latter being restricted by the HDMI bandwidth limit to 3,840 by 2,160 at 60Hz.

Compared to what you are getting for the current market price, it is a remarkable bargain, making it the best value for the money as far as 5K displays go for the Mac Mini.

10. Gigabyte M27Q

The Gigabyte M27Q is a very capable and speedy gaming monitor with few flaws. Though it has a huge color gamut, red is a little under-saturated, and it doesn’t offer extra contrast in HDR mode. But you do get superb gaming performance with 170 Hz and super-low input lag. As a value choice, it’s hard to beat.

It’s a great monitor for most uses, with a 27 inch, 1440p screen, great viewing angles, and an exceptional SDR color gamut. It’s very bright in SDR, and the matte anti-reflective coating delivers decent reflection handling, so viewability isn’t an issue in most viewing environments.

It’s even a great choice if your work or hobbies rely on accurate colors. It has excellent gray uniformity and exceptional gradient handling, so you don’t have to worry about the dirty screen effect or banding in areas of similar color.

As previously mentioned, it has an exceptional SDR color gamut with near-perfect coverage of both the common sRGB color space and the wider Adobe RGB color space. Finally, it has outstanding accuracy out of the box, and other than some slight issues in dark scenes, most people won’t notice any issues.
