#1. Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro

The best Razer gaming keyboard we’ve tested is the Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro. This full-size model has one of the lowest latencies over a wireless connection that we’ve tested, and its latency is equally as low if you use it wired. Though it’s less important for gaming, it also connects over Bluetooth and pairs with up to three devices at once, which is great if you’re chatting on Discord, or streaming while gaming. You can choose between Razer’s proprietary clicky Green switches or the linear Yellow switches. The Razer Green switches are light to actuate and have a short pre-travel distance, so keypresses feel responsive and satisfying, especially when coupled with the clicky noise. It also comes with extra features like dedicated media keys, a programmable control knob, and a Windows lock key, so you won’t accidentally minimize your game. There’s also RGB backlighting to illuminate your keys in the dark.

Unfortunately, the customization software isn’t available on macOS or Linux, so if you use those operating systems, you can’t customize your board. With that said, this keyboard has onboard memory, so you can save your settings to the board using a Windows computer running the software and take them with you to use on different computers. Also, despite the premium build quality, it uses ABS keycaps, which are prone to becoming slippery from finger oils over time, but you can replace the keycaps easily if you’d prefer. All that said, it’s an excellent choice if you’re looking for a high-performing, wireless peripheral to add to your gaming setup.

#2. Razer Pro Type Ultra

Recently, Razer has started to apply the lessons they’ve learned as a leading gaming keyboard manufacturer to more office-focused models. Of all the keyboards we’ve tested, we’ve picked the Razer Pro Type Ultra as the best Razer keyboard for office use. It’s a full-sized keyboard with a clean, all-white design that should fit well into most workplaces. It also has full white light backlighting, which can be helpful if you prefer working in lower-light environments. It connects wirelessly either with its USB receiver or via Bluetooth. You can also wirelessly pair up to three devices over Bluetooth or one device with its USB receiver. Also, unlike its predecessor, it includes a plush wrist rest.

Unfortunately, it’s only available with Razer Yellow switches. These switches are very light to press and offer an excellent typing quality, but they’re linear, so they don’t offer any tactile feedback while you type. If you like most aspects of this keyboard but prefer feeling a tactile bump when you actuate a key, the previous version of this keyboard has tactile Razer Orange switches. However, if you like the feel of typing with linear switches, this version is an outstanding choice and a great all-around keyboard for an office environment.

#3. Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2

The best budget Razer keyboard we’ve tested is the Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2. This TenKeyLess model has one incline setting and a plushy, removable wrist rest to keep you comfortable during those hours-long gaming sessions. The TKL form factor frees up extra space on your desk for mouse movements, and the RGB backlighting means you’ll see your keys no matter the time of day. You can get the keyboard in your choice of linear Razer Yellow, tactile Orange, or clicky Green switches, depending on the feeling you want. The linear Razer Yellow switches that we tested have a very low pre-travel distance and feel sensitive since they don’t require much force to press, and the board’s extremely low latency means games feel responsive and fluid.

Unfortunately, while this keyboard feels well-built overall, its keycaps are ABS plastic. Most users will likely find these aren’t as comfortable to type on as PBT keycaps, and they’re more prone to getting shiny from the oils on your fingers. Also, this keyboard doesn’t have any onboard memory, so you can’t save your settings and keep them if you use the keyboard on another computer without the software installed. Overall, this keyboard has exceptional performance and is one of the more affordable entry points into the Razer keyboard lineup.
